Having bought a bucket of
Having bought a bucket of cheese and enjoyed our last cup of Culver's frozen custard, we depart Wisconsin... Indiana calls us.
Well, it's now Wednesday morning, and we must bid farewell to Jenny, Jon, JP and Austin (sniff, sniff). It's time to leave the land of the Ducks (amphibious vehicles that traverse the Wisconsin Dells), baseball, horses, farms and all around beauty.
Today, we're off for Anderson, Indiana, home of Bill & Gloria Gaither. Our plan is to reach the Gaither Family Resource center by nightfall, spend some time there tomorrow, and then move on toward Chrissy's in Chesapeake, VA on Thursday.
What a beautiful day to travel! Thanks for all your prayers along the way - we are grateful for your faithfulness in prayer.
Til we reach Bill & Gloria's - we'll keep you in touch!

The start of a new week
Had a GREAT week in Illinois at I-Fest, ending with a perfect performance by the Ventriloquist Dream Team... the best gospel vents this side of the skyline! The play was actually an allegory of sorts, using a restaurant as a picture of The Church. We'll give you pictures as we get them. For now, here's a shot of the three women vents, along with Doug and our dear friend Brian Cockerham of West Monroe, Louisiana, who worked along with Doug to direct the production.
Today, we're visiting Jenny (our oldest daughter) her husband, John, and grandsons numbers 1 & 2, Austin and JP for a few days. The scenery up here is incredible! We got to meet their 3 Tea Cup Yorkies, 10 horses and a cat.
Tomorrow, up to the Dells, Lord Willing, for a ride on the Ducks! Then back home for Austin's baseball game.
We'll keep you posted!

I-Fest officially begins
Today got I-Fest off the ground. We've already met many old friends, but today we met some new ones... from all over the world! There are Christian puppeteers from Puerto Rico, Africa, Australia, Japan, United Kingdom, Canada, and a few from the U.S! What a joy to share together where languages are actually a hurdle!
Doug met with the Ventriloquist Dream Team today, and rehearsals are now underway for their performance on Saturday afternoon.
Lee met with the Conference Assistants, a team of 20 willing servants, just ready to help wherever and whenever needed.
The evening session featured the worship music of Alan Root, and the ventriloquist performance of Joe Bruce from Texas. We also enjoyed the puppet team performance of S.T.A.G.E.D. (Serving The Almighty God Every Day) from Omaha, NE.
...and now, it's time to say good night. Prayer meeting is at 6:45 tomorrow morning. Gotta get some sleep!
Catch you in the 'am'!
Well, all the pre-conference workshops

What do you do when you wake up in Cleveland, Ohio? You get up and get going! haha! Actually, it's quite nice here in Cleveland. But there's something even better to do when you wake up this morning... you roll over and say "Happy Anniversary, Honey!"
Today is our 5th wedding anniversary, and we're thanking God for His goodness and faithfulness through the few years. Now, more than ever, we need His hand to guide us and keep us, as we move forward together.
Thank you, Lord for your loving, caring, gentle hand that has led us here, and thank you for your patience when we're sure we ran it thin! But you are Good, and Kind, you are LOVE!
Thank you, too, friends and family for being there with us. We love you dearly.

Cross-Country

Well, as the Lord allows, we're getting ready to cross the country - at least the eastern half of it - to serve at One Way Street's International Festival of Christian Puppetry and Ventriloquism and visits to our daughters and families in Wisconsin and Virginia.
Lord willing, we'll start on July 1st from our home in Kearny, and head west to Bourbonnais, IL, home of Olivet Nazarene University, where the I-Fest will take place.
After I-Fest, we'll head north to Wisconsin to visit our daughter Jenny on the northwest side of Madison, then south to Chesapeake, home of another of our daughters, Chrissy, and then back to New Jersey.
The whole trip should cover roughly 2,300 miles and take about 2 weeks to complete.
Please pray for us as we have many responsibilities to take care of before leaving, and many more responsibilities to cover at I-Fest. Visiting the kids and grandkids is like having ice cream for dessert!
